Oiselle × Allaway
The Client
Oiselle is a Seattle-based women's running apparel brand built on a belief that has always been bigger than product: that women who run deserve to be taken seriously. Founded in 2007 by Sally Bergesen, the brand was created in direct response to the lack of performance gear designed specifically for women's bodies — and it has spent nearly two decades proving that fit, function, and community can all exist in the same brand.
What makes Oiselle different is the Volée — a global team of everyday runners who wear the kit, race the races, and show up for each other. It's not a sponsorship program. It's a community with its own culture, its own rituals, and its own reunion: Birdcamp. An annual gathering where hundreds of Volée members come together to run, reconnect, and remember why they started.
Allaway's role is to build the container for that reunion — the venue, the logistics, the hospitality, and the operational detail that lets a community of runners feel genuinely looked after. Three years of Birdcamp at The Acres. Three years of Atsuko and the Oiselle team arriving knowing it's handled.
The Partnership
For four years, Allaway proudly hosted Oiselle's Birdcamp — a community experience that celebrates fitness, friendship, and the great outdoors. After a COVID-enforced break, the tradition returned stronger than ever. Each year, Allaway worked to ensure scalability, profitability, and sustainability while enhancing the experience to keep returning participants coming back and inspiring new members to join for the first time.
Allaway and Oiselle came together for the first time at The Acres in Equinunk, PA. What began as a single community gathering laid the foundation for an annual tradition — athletes of all levels united through a shared love of movement, running, and connection.
The second Birdcamp proved the format had real staying power. Returning participants brought new energy, and new members arrived for the first time — drawn in by the reputation the first camp had already built. The programming expanded and the blueprint sharpened.
The pandemic put Birdcamp on hold for two years. The community stayed connected, but the gathering had to wait. When the world opened back up, the appetite to return was stronger than ever.
Birdcamp returned bigger and bolder. The Own the Runway Fashion Show, Meet the Runners sessions, 20+ workshops and classes, an educational panel, a half marathon on local routes, and Salomon partnership promotions — all under one roof, over one weekend. 300 tickets at $1,272. 20 semi-private rooms. 10 private rooms. The most complete edition yet.
The most refined edition — the welcome pack, the limited edition merch, the immersive pop-up shop, the expert panels. Four events across five years at The Acres. A community tradition built on trust, consistency, and the kind of hospitality that makes people come back every single year.

The Recap
From the President
Hosting Birdcamp with the Allaway team for three years, my gratitude for the staff team that made each year equally memorable and awesome runs deep. The Allaway crew and summer staff team brought so much love, energy and warmth to our event and that kindness leaves each person with a full heart from the “first hello, and welcome!” to “see you next year!” The experience at the venue is all about the people — the facilities and grounds are terrific of course — but you’ve always anticipated our needs and hopes, and continued to exceed them in every way. Your hospitality, kindness and sense of FUN is ageless and incredible.
