Allaway · Columbia River Gorge, Washington
Discover a venue designed to have everything. 175 acres in the Columbia River Gorge — an hour from Portland.
Few places compare. 175 acres inside the Columbia River Gorge — old-growth Douglas fir, Cascade Mountain views, treehouse rooms, seven ziplines, a nine-hole golf course, and more than 22,000 square feet of conference space. Open all year, an hour from Portland. A resort that does everything.
The Allaway Take
The Columbia River Gorge is one of the most genuinely awe-inspiring landscapes in North America. Put a team inside it and the bar for the event rises on its own.
Elevated above the forest floor inside the Douglas fir canopy. King beds, fireplaces, private balconies, forest fire pits, s’mores kits, bathrobes. When your team wakes up in a treehouse above the Gorge, the retreat has already worked. No program can deliver what those rooms do at six in the morning.
Twenty-three meeting rooms, from 250 to 7,000 sq ft, with the Riverview Pavilion taking 300. Full AV, Wi-Fi, printing and Apple TV throughout. This is a resort engineered for events, not a hotel that tolerates them — and it scales from a 20-person leadership session to a 500-person annual conference without changing the experience.
Seven ziplines, three sky bridges, a ropes course, axe throwing, nine-hole golf, mini golf, hiking trails, a pool, tennis and a fitness room — all before Allaway adds a program. The Gorge itself fills whatever is left: world-class windsurfing, trail running, and breweries and wineries nearby. Groups come here and actually unplug.
January resets, Q4 kick-offs, summer retreats — Skamania works year-round, and the Pacific Northwest turns every season into something cinematic. With Portland International 60 minutes away, the logistics stay clean. Few venues feel this remote while being this easy to reach.

Skamania Lodge sits inside the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area in Washington State — one of the most dramatic landscapes in North America, 60 minutes from Portland International Airport. Allaway handles all transportation coordination, including our sprinter van fleet and charter bus partners for larger groups.
The treehouse rooms are elevated inside the Douglas fir canopy of the Gorge. Each has a king bed, a full bathroom, a fireplace, a flat-screen TV, a private balcony with a forest fire pit, a kitchenette, bathrobes, board games and two s’mores kits. There is nothing equivalent in the event hospitality market. For groups where the arrival moment matters, this accommodation alone carries the brief.
The conference center has 23 meeting rooms covering more than 22,000 square feet, from 250 sq ft breakouts to a 7,000 sq ft main hall for up to 500 people. The Riverview Pavilion adds more than 2,500 sq ft of covered outdoor event space for 300. Skamania scales from a 20-person leadership off-site to a full 500-person annual conference.
Yes — Skamania Lodge is an all-season resort, and the Pacific Northwest turns every season into something cinematic: summer hikes and ziplines, fall foliage and fireside evenings, winter snow and hot tubs, spring bloom and trail running. There is no bad time to bring a group here. We recommend planning three to six months ahead, particularly for peak summer and Q1 dates.
On-property: seven ziplines, three sky bridges, an auto-belay system, a ropes course, axe throwing, nine-hole golf, 18-hole mini golf, a pool, tennis, a fitness room, hiking and trail running, and campfires. The Columbia River Gorge adds world-class windsurfing, craft breweries and wineries. Allaway builds a custom program around your group — high-energy, wellness-focused, or a mix of both.
Continental breakfast, charcuterie and appetizers, boxed lunches, themed dinners, and local Pacific Northwest vendor options. Bar service includes premium alcohol packages, bartenders, a full liquor license, and mocktails and zero-proof options. Allaway can coordinate everything from a lodge dinner for 500 to a riverside wine and cheese pairing for 20.
Flat-screen TVs and projectors throughout, handheld and wireless lapel microphones, sound systems, high-speed Wi-Fi, Apple TV, AirPlay and on-site printing. Our IT team captures your requirements in advance so everything is tested and ready before your first guest arrives. No scrambling, no surprises.
Skamania operates as a partner venue rather than an Allaway-owned property, so full-campus exclusivity depends on the event configuration and the dates. Allaway works closely with Skamania to secure the right level of exclusivity for each group — from a dedicated conference wing takeover to a full-property buyout for larger events. We will advise on what is possible for your dates.
