Where exactly is The Oaks?

The Oaks is located in San Diego County, California — 45 minutes from San Diego International Airport. Nestled between the outer edges of Southern California’s state parks, it sits on 240+ private acres with wide-open skies and minimal light pollution. Allaway handles all transportation from the airport to the property and back.

How many guests does the venue accommodate?

Up to 100 guests on-property across 103 beds, spread across six accommodation buildings — Ballena, Wynne, Kendall, Birdie Rose, Maverick and Valley View. Options range from multi-bed shared buildings to semi-private and private configurations. The dining room and theater both seat 100.

Is the venue available year-round?

Yes — The Oaks is available 365 days a year. San Diego County’s climate makes it one of our most flexible properties for year-round programming. January off-sites, Q3 leadership summits, holiday team events — all viable. Dates fill up quickly, particularly in Q1 and Q4, so we recommend planning three to six months in advance.

What AV and tech infrastructure is available?

The theater has flat-screen TVs and projectors, handheld and wireless lapel microphones, a full sound system, high-speed Wi-Fi, Apple TV, AirPlay and on-site printing. Our IT team captures your requirements in advance so everything is set up and tested before your guests arrive — no scrambling on the day.

What does catering look like at The Oaks?

The venue offers continental breakfast with additional items, charcuterie and appetizers, boxed lunch options, themed dinners, and access to local vendors for additional catering. Bar and beverage includes a full premium alcohol package, bartenders, mocktails, a poolside tiki bar and an Airstream bar. Our team coordinates all food service preferences in advance.

What activities are available on-property?

Swimming pool, tennis, fire pit evenings, field games, sunrise yoga, nature hiking, trail running, trivia nights, karaoke, BBQ dinners and campfire sessions. Our program team builds a custom schedule aligned to your event objectives — balancing structured sessions with free time to let the venue do its work naturally.

Is the venue fully exclusive to our group?

Always. The Oaks is a full venue buyout — one group at a time. All 240+ acres, all six accommodation buildings, all facilities and the full Allaway operations team are dedicated to your event and only your event for the duration of the stay.

How does transportation work?

Allaway manages all flight and ground transportation. Our sprinter van fleet handles airport runs from San Diego, with charter bus partners for larger group arrivals. We manage all transportation lists, arrival and departure logistics, airport pick-up and drop-off, and on-site movement throughout the event.
